Mission and Vision of Crescent Roots

Why We Do What We Do

Crescent Roots is a nod to the saying "as above, so below." We become more of our most conscious, intentional, awake, and healthy self when we are aware of both our light (our dreams, virtues, best parts of ourselves, pleasurable feelings) and our dark (shadows, trauma, pain, and things we typically do not want to feel), and everything in between. Transpersonal and psychoanalytic psychology, as well as mystic spiritual approaches, talk of "integrating" our light and dark, to become whole. This does not mean that we give into our impulses, shadows, and temptations, but that we become aware of them, so that we can channel them into more productive and motivated actions. Otherwise, these shadowy parts of ourselves grow roots of their own, instead of nurture the roots of our truest sense of self. Our shadows gain power over us when they remain repressed, whether its the trauma itself, or the reactions to it (i.e. depression, anxiety, rage, addiction, resentment, envy, disgust, unhealthy attachment, etc). When we journey to the center of our being, with compassion and the ability to regulate our emotions (often what most therapists initially teach their clients), then we begin to learn how much power our minds actually have, and we can then begin the process of realigning this power to fuel our walk towards the dreams, goals, aspirations, and vision that our heart and core sense of self have, rather than the vision that was formed by the misconceptions of our unhealed pain.

We at Crescent Roots believe in the vivid, enchanted life. We believe in a holistic approach that aims to satisfy each client and their deeper needs. Far from giving a few take-aways and sending a client on their way prematurely, we believe a bit more work will help each client figure out their deeper, more unconscious drives and align these drives with their overall goals. Thus, we do what we do because we care about empowerment, for every single client that walks in the door, as well as the community at large of which is uplifted when each person finds their inner passion and lives it out. In biology, an ecosystem thrives when it is diverse, and as such we find a similar comparison to the psychological and sociological aspects of any community. We at Crescent Roots believe in the beauty of unique individuality and any society's encouragement for each individual to be free to be themselves. Being the self, and being able to be the self, is the greatest path toward the happiness of each person and every community.

Crescent Roots Psychological Services, PLLC is founded, owned, and directed by Jason Beers, PsyD, LP. There are no shareholders, and no government funding. Thus, there is no pressure to abandon our strong belief and adherence to DEI, and allyship with communities typically marginalized by totalitarian belief systems, whether religious, political, or born out of trauma. We will never cave in our inclusive, supportive stance on this matter. We stand for empathy, peace, compassion, and the fruit of knowledge.

Crescent Roots is a diverse set of clinicians, each from a unique background, culture, and set of experiences in personal and professional life. All clients who engage are hoped to feel welcomed, appreciated, and encouraged to be their true selves.

What We Do

Crescent Roots Psychological Services is evolved psychology and mental health treatment that fuses modern research with timeless wisdom, lending toward relief, healing, and inspiration. Therapy includes various theories and techniques that are well researched, studied and practiced by our team of therapists. Ultimately, therapy is shown to be healing through the client's experience of empathy, compassion, and support from their therapist. Crescent Roots aimed at hiring the warmest therapists we could find, so that we can help you feel safe and motivated to find the roots of your symptoms for long-term benefit, and align these roots with your inner light and purpose.

The overall techniques our expert staff practice from are often called depth psychotherapy, psychodynamic therapy, and humanistic or transpersonal therapy. We also utilize a variety of techniques to help with the beginning of the journey, such as CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT, and coping skills. This proven, holistic approach can not only help you experience alleviation and management of symptoms, but assist in you feeling equipped and prepared to do the deep work, where we journey with you toward a healthier, fulfilled life by invoking the inner wisdom that we believe every one of you has inside of yourself.

Crescent Roots is more than just a clinic that gives a few take-homes. Rather, we are a movement toward vibrancy, expanded awareness, and progression of self that deeply fulfills and advances the individual and thus the community. Are you ready to begin the journey?
