Still Have Questions? We're Here to Help.
Do you offer in-person or face-to-face sessions at your office?
To provide the most flexible, private, and accessible care to residents across the entire state of Michigan, Crescent Roots Psychological Services focuses exclusively on Telehealth (virtual therapy).
What kind of therapy do you offer?
At Crescent Roots Psychological Services we offer evidence-based and holistic therapies for emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Our services include individual therapy, trauma and PTSD therapy, EMDR, IFS (Internal Family Systems), CBT, DBT, mindfulness and meditation-based therapy and psychedelic integration therapy.
We also offer telehealth sessions for clients in Michigan so you can get care from the comfort of your own home.
What do you help with?
We work with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief, addiction recovery, relationship issues and life transitions.
We also specialize in LGBTQ+ affirming therapy, men’s and women’s issues and holistic approaches to personal growth.
No matter what you’re struggling with, we want to create a space where you feel heard, supported and empowered to heal.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other. Your therapist will ask about your goals, concerns and what brought you to therapy. You’ll discuss what you’d like to work on and what approach might be best for you.
There’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready to. The first session is about building trust and comfort so therapy can unfold at your pace.
How long does therapy take?
Therapy length varies for everyone. Some clients find relief in just a few sessions while others benefit from ongoing deeper work. Frequency and duration of therapy is always tailored to your goals, needs and progress.
At Crescent Roots Psychological Services our focus is not on rushing the process but on supporting meaningful lasting change.
What is telehealth therapy?
Telehealth therapy is just like in-person sessions — the only difference is it’s online. You’ll meet with your therapist through a private video link. It’s great for clients with busy schedules, transportation barriers or those who just prefer the convenience of meeting virtually. Many clients find telehealth to be just as effective and personal as in-office therapy.
What is EMDR therapy and how does it help with trauma?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based approach that helps people heal from trauma and distressing memories. It uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) to help the brain safely reprocess painful experiences.
Over time EMDR reduces the emotional charge of traumatic memories and helps you regain a sense of calm, control and self-trust.
What is IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy?
IFS therapy helps you understand and heal the different “parts” of yourself — such as your inner critic, protector or wounded self. It’s a gentle, insightful approach that teaches you how to listen to your inner world with compassion instead of judgment.
Through IFS you’ll learn to lead your inner system from your calm, grounded Self — restoring inner harmony and confidence.
Do you offer therapy for teens?
Yes. We offer teen therapy to support communication, connection and emotional health at home. Teen therapy helps young people manage stress, build confidence and navigate challenges like anxiety, social pressure or identity development.
Do you prescribe medication?
No. Crescent Roots Psychological Services focuses on psychotherapy and holistic approaches to mental wellness. We do not prescribe or manage medication. However if medication might be helpful we can collaborate with your physician, psychiatrist or other medical providers to ensure you get comprehensive care.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you’ve been feeling anxious, stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of your next steps therapy can help. You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable — therapy can be a proactive way to build insight, resilience and balance.
Your first session is a safe space to explore if Crescent Roots Psychological Services is the right fit.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Call us at 630-313-2575 or use our contact page to request a consultation or book your first session. We’ll get back to you quickly to answer any questions and get you started.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we do accept insurance, and we are in network with most of the main insurance providers. Please visit the Resources tab, Insurances section to see which insurances we accept.
We are also an out-of-network provider for other plans. Many clients use out-of-network benefits through their insurance company to get partial reimbursement for sessions. We provide detailed receipts (superbills) that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
We also accept private pay clients and can discuss payment options during your consultation.
Is everything I share confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is top priority. All sessions are confidential and conducted according to professional and legal ethical standards. Information shared in therapy is protected except for specific safety concerns (such as risk of harm).
